FAN field operatives are professionals in the art of informing the public about the plight of Canada's temperate rainforest. These people have travelled to the Great Bear Rainforest, have seen grizzly bears feeding on salmon, have seen the majesty of 1,000 year old cedar trees, and have been invited to feast with First Nations peoples such as the Nuxalk, who have lived in the region since time immemorial. They have also seen the harsh reality of logging in the Great Bear Rainforest. Concentrated in the Great Bear Rainforest,
only 20% of the large rainforest valleys on the coast of B.C. still remain pristine. Mega-corporations like Home Depot and BC logging companies move slowly. This is a classic David and Goliath situation. When these mega corporations reveal their weaknesses, FAN operatives will strike the fatal blow. The Action Team is not alone. Activists across North America, from our allies at Rainforest Action Network to other environmental and student groups are also taking action. REM and a host of other celebrities have joined the campaign.
Our mission is to stop Home
Depot from selling the worlds remaining ancient forests - we hope you'll join us.
