Ancient Rainforests Under Siege

FAN confirms that Interfor has moved their logging operations out of Johnston Creek. However, FAN believes that the Johnston is still under threat. Interfor continues to improve logging infrastructure in an adjacent watershed only a few minutes walk away. We believe that Interfor has every intention of logging the Johnston in the future.

A number of Canadian environmental groups are currently in discussions with Interfor. These talks may secure a temporary moratorium but there is NO GUARANTEE that the Johnston will escape the chainsaw.

FAN demands that Interfor do the following:

1. Properly decommission the entire road and remove the access bridge;

2. Give written confirmation that they have no intention of EVER logging the Johnston; and

3. Agree not to log any other pristine valley in the Great Bear Rainforest.
