The Great Bear Rainforest is the largest expanse of coastal temperate rainforest left in the world. Grizzly bears roam freely through ancient stands of spruce and cedar, Pacific salmon spawn in crystal rivers, and bald eagles nest in towering trees. Today, a handful of multinational logging corporations are cutting down these ancient forests for short-term profit. |

Healthy wild salmon runs and a pristine marine environment are essential for a healthy temperate rainforest ecosystem. Bear, wolves, eagles, and orcas all depend on wild salmon for their survival. Unfortunately, wild salmon are under attack by the industrial salmon farming industry and their associated diseases, parasites, pollution, chemicals and escaped exotic species. |

The boreal forest ecosystem is a contiguous green belt of coniferous and deciduous trees encircling much of the northern hemisphere, including most of Russia, Scandanavia, and Canada. It has long been identified as one of the world's three great forest ecosystems. Urgent action is needed to save boreal forests from logging, mining, dams, and oil and gas development. |
